Traverse Bay, Manitoba
Traverse Bay, On the Mouth of the Winnipeg River
Though not really part of Lake Winnipeg Traverse Bay is the mouth of the Winnipeg River where it flows into the lake between Elk Island and Devil's Island.
It lends its name to a large part of the northern beaches area, including Traverse Bay Corner where Hwy 59 and Hwy 11 part(formerly known as Nelly's Corner). There you will find the Idle Thyme Restaurant, a laundromat, post office, liqueur mart and grocery store, automotive repair and a small lumber yard.
Cottages and Residences
The cottage area stretches along the western shore of the bay up to Albert Beach.
